To help non-English speakers, we have provided some basic information above. We also link to free translation services, which will translate English into French, German, Italian, Portugese, and Spanish (this service is offered by www.google.com/translate_t

Changing your font size and colour

People with a visual impairment may have problems reading the default colours and font sizes on this website. It is possible to change these settings so all web pages are displayed in a larger typeface and clearer colour scheme. Note: Access Adobe products have accessibility features for electronic document formats.

The procedure for changing your font and colour settings depends on the type of web browser on your computer. To identify your browser, look at the top of the browser window and read the browser name to the right of the page title. Most computers use Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer browsers. The exact version of the browser can be found by selecting About (eg About Internet Explorer or About Netscape Communicator) from the Help menu at the top of your screen.
Use the instructions below to alter the font size and colour on your browser. The instructions are for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above and Netscape Communicator 4.7. Procedures may vary for other browsers ? for further information refer to the Help menu on your browser toolbar.
Internet Explorer (versions 5 and above)
To enlarge text, select View and then Text Size on your browser.
To change your colour settings, follow these step-by-step instructions:
  1. select Tools from the top of the browser window
  2. click on Internet Options - a pop-up window will appear
  3. click on Accessibility ? another pop-up window will appear
  4. tick the box marked 'Ignore colours specified on web pages'. Click OK
  5. in the Internet Options window (which should still be open) click on Colours ? a pop-up window will appear
  6. deselect the box marked 'Use Windows colours'
  7. choose a text colour and background colour by clicking on the coloured boxes to the right of Text
  8. select OK to apply these changes to your browser
Netscape Communicator (version 4.7)
To change your browser settings, select the Edit menu and click on Preferences. From here you can change your font or colour settings as follows:
To change the text size:
  1. select Appearance
  2. click on Font
  3. choose the variable-width font and fixed-width font you intend to use
  4. click OK
To set this font as a default, click on 'Use my default fonts overriding document specified fonts'.
To change the text and background colours:
  1. select Appearance
  2. click on Colours
  3. choose a text colour and click OK
  4. choose a background colour and click OK
  5. click OK to apply these changes
To set this colour scheme as a default, click on 'Always use my colours, overriding document'
